History of the Lego Museum
Czech LEGO collector Milos Krecek had around 1,000 sets all together when he decided to exhibit the assembled parts in his own museum.
Today, the private Lego Museum, in a historic building in the center of Prague, is the largest of its kind in the world, not only in terms of numbers, but also with the size of the exhibitions.
More than 3,000 Lego sets are on display in 20 different, thematically separated departments spread over 340 square meters on 3 floors, the oldest dating back to 1949, with a total of more than 1 million Lego blocks used.
The exhibits are constantly being added to and modified.
Exhibits from the early days of the Danish company, dating back to the 1930s, are also on display in the museum.
LEGO was awarded the title of "Toy of the Century".
By the way, the name of the construction set simply came from the word combination "Leg godt!", which means "Play well!" in German.
